I think there is a love called marriage love
And maybe it is the toughest love of all.
The kind of love where there are pushes and pulls,
Stares and gazes, passion and disgust.
It blooms  and you are enticed by it’s fragrance,
Too addicted to pull away.
With time the newness fades,
The familiarity makes you aware
Maybe a little more than you would want to be
The senses on overdrive,
There are pulls and pushes
Days and nights,
Ups and downs…
The ride gets you dizzy, busy and a little messy
But the pulls, days and ups, keep you afloat.
Eventually, the familiar becomes your weather
The home you looked for, all along, becomes one person;
The smell becomes your grounding.
You thrive and grow through the journey
The love that came, played its own rhythm,
And finally decided to stay.
The marriage love
The one that is invasive, exhausting and exhilarating,
The one that makes you feel heaven and hell in equal measure,
Until the final breath or maybe more.
